Janina is a curator and arts entrepreneur with a background in classical music and a postgraduate degree in contemporary art curation from the Royal College of Art in London. She founded Goodmesh and Artsitters, committed to supporting living artists and believes that art deserves a visible, valued place in the world — it’s one of the few things that makes us truly human.
Caitlin van der Zee, Director &
Co-Founder
Originally from New Zealand, Caitlin’s passion for art, public installations, and spatial experiences led her to Amsterdam. With a strong foundation in management and operations, she co-founded MAIA to create a bold, versatile art agency. She believes art brings spaces to life — adding warmth, character, and personality. She’s drawn to its ability to transform a space and leave a lasting impression that’s both seen and felt.

At MAIA, we specialise in sourcing and commissioning artworks for homes, hotels, and commercial spaces — treating each space as a blank canvas defined by its architecture and atmosphere.
We collaborate with emerging and established artists across disciplines to deliver thoughtful, original works that are both meaningful and accessible.
